Queen Roulette spins to maiden win

QUEEN ROULETTE broke through for her first win tonight, joining her full sister LADY ROULETTE, brother SING ROULETTE and half-brother MACAU ROULETTE who have been on the winning list at Kranji.

All four horses, in addition to KING ROULETTE who has yet to race, are offsprings of of the mare FRAAR'S SALOME who won two races in Australia and five in Singapore before being sent back to Australia to breed. All of them are bred by owner Teng Kian Beng.

QUEEN ROULETTE was unplaced in two legs of the recent Aushorse Golden Horseshoe series, but subsequently fared better in Restricted Maiden company where she managed a second and a fourth placing.

With the four runs under her belt, the daughter of Ruwi proved no match for her rivals in the 2YO Open - 1200m sprint tonight, running out a 3 1/4-length winner.

"Very happy for Mr Teng, he bred her from his former Kranji horse RUWI and out of a mare who also raced here," said trainer Leslie Khoo, who also trains SING ROULETE.

RUWI win five races in France but was unplaced in six starts in Singapore before heading to Australia for stud duties.
