Showboy unbeaten in three starts

SHOWBOY made  it three wins from three starts with a runaway victory in the Premium race for two and three-year-olds at Sungei Besi here today to highlight the potential for this New Zealand gelding.

Sharee Hamilton paid NZ$25,000 for SHOWBOY at the Ready To Run sale when she was still an assistant trainer and apprentice Khairil Zulkiflee has now ridden him in all his three wins.

Khairil kept SHOWBOY third on the rails and while the two leaders kicked clear at the top of the straight, he was still about three lengths behind them at the 150m. But he started to quicken strides and was within striking distance at the 100m.

SHOWBOY drew away in the run to the post to win by 2 1/2 lengths.
