NOVA SWISS made it four wins in a
row for Alwin Tan on the night his trainer cemented his position at the top
of the table with a double.
NOVA SWISS passed his biggest test yet when he came from just off the pace
to beat his seven rivals by 3 3/4-lengths in the Benchmark 83 - 1200m
handicap on the polytrack.
"This
horse is amazing," said jockey Manoel Nunes who has partnered the gelding in
all his wins here. "Around the turn I had to shake him up, but I realised, I
needed to change his lead and once I balanced him up, the response was that
of a good horse."
NOVA SWISS raced five times as a juvenile in New Zealand for two wins and a fourth in the
listed C & G Slipper (1200m) at Matamata before coming to Singapore.
Trainer Tan went on to saddle DRAGON G in the Class 5 - 1700m handicap and
the double brought his tally to 87 for the year, 15 ahead of Patrick Shaw
with just three racing days to go before the season ends.
