Former MRA champion trainer Malcolm
Thwaites has his best day for several years when he saddled three winners at
Sungei Besi here today.
Considering that he only sent out five winners for the whole of last year,
four in 2014 and six the year before that, today's treble must come like a
blessing for the veteran trainer.
HAPPY EDDINGTON, who finished third in his debut last Sunday, stepped up on
that effort to win the Breakthrough Stakes over 1200m. The American gelding
was originally imported to Singapore but did not race at Kranji and was sent
o Thwaites instead.
Thwaites' second winner GRAND PRINCE found one to beat twice in seven starts
before finding the mark today.
LAUS DEO, who provided Thwaites with a win last year and another in 2014,
has started the new season with a third and now a win in two start.
With a winner (GRAND SHOW) last
Saturday, Thwaites has now four for the 2016 season.
