Coronation Cup

After finishing second in the Perak
Gold Vase and also the Sprint Trophy earlier in the year, TRUSON finally
landed a big one when successful in the RM250,000 Coronation Cup here today.
The Australian gelding has risen rapidly through the ranks after landing
unraced in December 2013.
TRUSON made his debut in mid 2014 and has been unplaced just thrice in 26
starts.
TRUSON flashed home too late to catch MR ARMSTRONG in the Sprint Trophy
(1400m) and he really appreciated the longer trip today.
Jockey Lou Ho had TRUSON well back in the early running and made his move at
the home bend, switching him out wide behind a line of horses.
TRUSON got going in the final 200m to win by half a length from JUSTICE
WORLD.
It was the biggest win for Ho and first Coronation Cup success for trainer
Stephen Cook.
Cook won the Perak Gold Vase and Sprint Trophy with BLUE TOSCA although the
gelding had to share honours with EAGLE in the latter. Cook also saddled
CARBON COPY to capture the Perak Derby in 2014.
