In-form Honest Truth wins again

When HONEST TRUTH strikes form, he tends to chalk up victories in quick succession.

Back in the winner's circle last November after being out of the cold since March 2014, the New Zealand gelding went on to chalk up two thirds and two wins since.

The nine-year-old followed up on his last start win in Class 4 to take the Kranji Stakes C - 1000m sprint on the polytrack at Kranji here today.

Despite his good recent form, HONEST TRUTH started the race, reduced to eight runners after four horses were withdrawn at the barrier, at generous odds.

Ridden by Elione Chaves, he raced to the front halfway down the home stretch, then held off the challenge of CASTOR to win by a neck.

Early in his career in Singapore, HONEST TRUTH won his second start at Kranji and chalked up two more wins in his next four starts.

Then came a long run of 'outs' before to struck form again in November 2013 and quickly picked up two more wins in his next three starts.

HONEST TRUTH raced for two seasons in Australia, winning twice and was also placed second in the Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes at Randwick before coming to Singapore.
