Whisperinthewind gets maiden win

Ipoh trainer Chong Keng Leong had WHISPERINTHWIND for a few months in 2014 but the Australian gelding, for which he paid A$26,000 as a yearling, did not race for him but headed south to Singapore.

At Kranji, the son of Ad Valorem had 14 outings under four different trainers, managing just two placings.

Back with Chong three months ago, WHISPERINTHEWIND has found that the grass is greener back home. A first-up second last week was followed by a win in a Class 5 - 1200m handicap here today.

CLASSIC ARROW, one of the few remaining Malaysian breds left in training, chalked up his fifth win when successful in a Class 5 - 1400m handicap.

It was the third time Mauritius apprentice Daniel Jagadishan has been successful on the gelding.
