Gutsy comeback win by Amityship

AMITYSHIP came out from a 10-month spell to record a gutsy win in a Cosmo C - 1400m event here today, demonstrating once again the fighting quality of this Australian mare.

Ridden by apprentice Wong Kam Chong, the daughter of Keeper disputed the lead with last week's winner TAWQEET all the way and despite the layoff, managed to get the upper hand by half a length.

Bought for A$9,000 as a yearling, AMITYSHIP started twice in late 2013, then had to spend 16 months on the sidelines because of injuries.

After scoring back-to-back wins in early 2015, AMITYSHIP headed down south to Singapore but finished down the field in two starts.

Back in Malaysia and after a six-month layoff, AMITYSHIP again won back-to-back races early last year. But after finishing third in her next outing, AMITYSHIP was again off the scene ... until today.

It's now 10 starts for five for this injury-plagued but talented galloper.
