Purchased for a hefty sum but a disappointment in Australia, ARAGORN is finally showing his true worth in Malaysia.

Tan Sri Vincent Tan and his son Dato Robin Tan paid A$130,000 for the son of Manhattan Rain at the Inglis sale in Melbourne but he failed to show up in two runs down under.

Shipped to Malaysia, ARAGORN unplaced in two runs in January but he came right here last month when he accounted for the Maiden field over 1200m.

Partnered by Benny Woodworth again, ARAGORN came from just off the pace to win by 1 1/4 lengths in the Novice - 1300m event today.

Mohd Sukri saddled first winner of the season when veteran galloper LEE BANK bounced back to form after 10 months in the cold with a hard-fought win in a Class 4 - 1200m sprint.
