TK Barnabas made winning comeback

Former Singapore based apprentice Thavakumar Barnabas made a successful comeback to racing when he booted home LORD OF SHANGHAI in the opening race at Sungei Besi here today.

Barnabas rode for three seasons at Kranji, winning once in 2014. But he has been out of action for more than a year.

With a second opportunity in a new circuit, Barnabas took his chances well when he guided LORD OF SHANGHAI to an all-the-way win.

It was also the maiden win in 11 starts for the New Zealand gelding.

But the star of the afternoon was jockey Ruzaini Supien who was also back in action after a short time on the sidelines.

Ruzaini booted home three winners from seven rides in his first day of action for the new season.
