Oscar Chavez, whose licence has not
been renewed for the 2018 season, is making most of the remaining days he
has left in Singapore.
The Panamanian-born jockey followed up on his treble on Friday night to land
two winners at Kranji here today: WHITE COFFEE and XIONG FONG.
Ten-year-old WHITE COFFEE returned to the winner's circle after almost 11
months in opening race to land his 11th win in 83 starts at Kranji, after
having won once in five starts in Australia.
The naturalised Singaporean rider then took XIONG FONG straight to the front
in the Class 4, Div 2 - 1200m handicap which was run in heavy rain and was
rewarded with a handsome win.
"WHITE COFFEE is old but he wins every now and then. As for XIONG FONG, he
fell down at the stables after his last run, and I’m glad he’s bounced
back," said Alwin Tan who trains both horses.
The 2017 Singapore racing season
concludes this weekend.
