MIGHTY CONQUEROR bounced back after
two disappointing runs to land the Racing For Rhinos 2017 feature at Kranji
here tonight.
The Patapan gelding started his career by winning his first two starts on
the turf but since then has shown that he is equally a force to be reckoned
with on the polytrack.
The Racing For Rhinos 2017 feature is a Kranji Stakes C event over 1200m on
the polytrack.
Apprentice Zawari Razali, who had scored twice on the New Zealand gelding in
mid-season, parked MIGHTY CONQUEROR third behind the two favourites LIM'S
SHOT and SILKINO in the running before racing away to win by 1 1/4-lengths
from the latter.
"MIGHTY CONQUEROR
is my favourite horse. I’ve won three times from four rides on him,” said
Zawari whose last success came on Oct 1. "He’s a horse who can pull hard
when he’s fresh, but he was travelling so good that by the home turn, I knew
he was a winner already."
