Late boomer DANCE IN THE WIND completed a hat-trick when she easily captured the Penang Turf Club Trophy at Kranji here tonight.

The Japanese mare raced for three seasons back home and had to wait until she turned four before breaking the duck over 1600m. She was never out of the board in seven starts that season, winning twice more over 1400m.

In Singapore, DANCE IN THE WIND was placed twice in three starts over 1400m before showing liking for longer trips, winning her last three outings.

Ridden by Derrick David, the mare as usual went to the front on settling down and coasted home by 1 1/2 lengths, beating MAGSTOCK for the second race in a row in the Kranji Stakes - 2000m event.

"She is getting better and better this mare. I thought she would be tested tonight, but she beat them easy," said David.

"I am looking at running her in the Chairman’s Trophy first," said trainer Hideyuki Takaoka who has won the Singapore Gold Cup four times. "We will see how she goes first - one race at a time."
