You Are Genius at his best in Trophy

After finishing dead-last in his most recent two outings, YOU ARE GENIUS was largely ignored in the betting for the RM48,000 Visit Perak 2017 Trophy here today.

But prior to his last two dismal showings, the Dane Shadow gelding had won back-to-back races in Class 4.

It was that sort of form which YOU ARE GENIUS displayed today in the Enrich Stakes A - 1200m event.

Partnered by Mohd Yusri, the six-year-old made all the running to beat some of the more established names in the open weight-set contest.

YOU ARE GENIUS paid RM162 for a win and it was his sixth win in 40 starts.

There was another surprise in the final event when BLACK THORM improved on two unplaced outings to win easily in the Lenggong Valley Handicap to pay RM122.
