Good News surprises in comeback win

GOOD NEWS returned to the winner's circle to win the Benchmark 97 - 1100m sprint on the polytrack at Kranji here tonight, but punters weren't exactly delighted at his return to form.

After claiming the Korea Racing Authority Trophy last July, the Charge Forward gelding failed to regain that form until today.

Ridden by Benny Woodworth, he came from off the pace to win drawing away by half a length from LINCOLN ROAD, the same horse be beat into second place in the Korea Racing Authority Trophy.

GOOD NEWS paid $90 for his 10th win in 43 starts.

"He needs a fast pace and he got it tonight," said trainer Tan Hor Khoon. "He’s always been a good horse to me, but he just needs things to go his way."
