Mr Hanks outclasses rivals in debut

With four runs behind him in New Zealand, MR HANKS made that experience count when he won his Singapore debut in the S$90,000 Inglis Ready2Race Stakes at Kranji here today.

The condition-weight event over 1200m was the fourth leg of the Singapore Golden Horseshoe series for juveniles.

MR HANKS raced in top company back home, with a second and a fourth at Ellerslie and a second in the listed Murdoch Newell Stakes at Pukekohe.

His unplaced run came in the NZ$1mil Karaka Million, no less.

With such a CV, MR HANKS was installed favourite in his Krani debut and he outclassed his rivals to win by 4 1/2 lengths.

"The horse came here with strong form," said trainer James Peters. "He looks the goods for the other two-year-old races."

The Group 2 Singapore Golden Horseshoe will be run on July 7.
