Captain Jazz calls the tune

After being placed in his first two starts, CAPTAIN JAZZ finally called the tune in a Class 4 - 1400m handicap at Sungei Besi here today.

Having impressed in his two runs thus far, the Captain Sonador gelding started favourite and came from just off the pace to win drawing away by 1 3/4 lengths.

CAPTAIN JAZZ had raced in Australia and only managed his maiden win as a late three-year-old. He picked up two more wins at four but all the successes came at country tracks.

His Malaysian form suggests that the gelding has acclimatized quickly in his new country and sure to pick up more wins.

Trainer Frank Maynard won half the card today.
