Lincoln Road finds path to success again

LINCOLN ROAD, who got his Singapore campaign off to a flying start with five consecutive wins last year, was back in the winner's circle in his fifth start of the season at Kranji here today.

Ridden by Matthew Kellady who scored once on the gelding last year, the son of Swiss Ace came from second last early in the field of seven to win drawing away by 2 3/4 lengths in the Kranji Stakes A - 1100m sprint on the polytrack.

"This is his best win to-date," said trainer Shane Baertschiger. "He had joint problems, which explained why he went through a bit of a slump in form, but he’s bounced back now.

After his winning streak last year, LINCOLN ROAD was placed in his next three starts, including finishing second to RAFAELLO in the Group 3 Garden City Trophy (1200m).

LINCOLN ROAD was placed in two four starts this season before his return to winning for today.

Placed once in three starts in New Zealand, LINCOLN ROAD has now chalked up six wins, four seconds and two thirds in 14 starts in Singapore.
