More Power edges in front in Cup

Narrowly beaten at her last start here last month, MORE POWER made amends to capture the RM70,000 Aintree Park Challenge Cup at Sungei Besi here today.

The set-weight event with penalty produced a thrilling finish, one in which jockey Jose De Souza was at his brilliant best.

De Souza had MORE POWER running a handy third early and made his challenge on the inside of horses at the 300m. But De Souza had to work overtime to get his mount going and MORE POWER did not get his head in front until close home.

It was the fifth win in 28 starts for the daughter of Ruwi who was successful in France but failed to show up in five starts in Singapore.
