Daniel Murphy quits local circuit, again

KUALA LUMPUR:  Feb 8. 2017

Irish trainer Daniel Murphy has relinquished his licence to train in the MRA circuit, for the third time.

Murphy’s career began in England 30 years ago and he has spent much of the time in the Far East. He was amongst the top trainers in Macau for five seasons before spending two years in Penang on 2001 and 2002.

He returned home but the lure of the local circuit saw him make a comeback in 2005, this time to Singapore where he spent three successful seasons.

At Kranji, Murphy's biggest success was winning the Singapore Gold Cup in 2005. TERFEL is also among a handful of Singapore trained horses who have been successful in Dubai.

Murphy quit Singapore to train in Bawtry, South Yorkshire, England in 2007 but returned yet again to Kuala Lumpur in 2013.
