Gutsy win by Panda Bomb

PANDA BOMB, who finished third in the first heat in Ipoh on May 21, put up a gutsy display to win the third heat of the Malaysia 3YO Championship at Sungei Besi here today.

There was mad scramble for the early lead and it was PANDA BOMB who took command as the field settled down. The leader drifted out a little at the top of the straight and POKEMON BABY took advantage and claimed the lead on the rails.

But PANDA BOMB fought back and regained the lead when POKEMON BABY came under pressure and shortened strides at the 200m.

TARZAN BOY put in a late bid but PANDA BOMB just held on to win by a neck. It was his third win in six starts overall and ensure that trainer Charles Leck will have two runners in the Championship final to be held here on Jul 15.
