Nova Ranger wins farewell race

Trainer Leslie Khoo and apprentice Troy See have both been out of the winner's circle for several months. So it came as a huge relief to both when they combined to win the opening event at Kranji here this evening.

See had partnered NOVA RANGER in the gelding's last two starts, finishing third last time out. He was not going to miss this time.

See had NOVA RANGER settled in a midfield position before bring him home to win by a head for the gelding's second win in 16 starts.

See returned to riding last month after serving two consecutive suspensions totalling four months.

Khoo had not saddled a winner since (KUBERA'S CHIEF) on May 21.

"Things have been quiet for not just Troy, but me, too! He was suspended for four months, I haven’t had a winner for four months," said Khoo.

Tonight was NOVA RANGER's last run in Singapore before he heads for Malaysia.
