Relau Star shines
in debut win

His previous
namesake won just once in 18 starts, including one run in Australia, before
being taken off the active list in 2012.
The 'new' RELAU STAR, however, has made an immediate impact by winning his
debut in the Restricted Maiden event over 1200m here today.
Partnered by SS Vanan, the son of Captain Sonador wasn't the first to break
but soon surged to the front on settling down. He then kept up a relentless
gallop to win by five lengths, giving the impression that more wins are
coming his way. He started favourite and paid RM10 for a win.
RELAU STAR is just two and was bought by his trainer Wong Kong Fatt for
A$25,000 at the Magic Millions Horses In Training Sale at the end of last
year.
The day's races started with a mild surprise from 10-year-old ALACARTE who
scored a narrow win to pay RM53 for a win.
