TRUSON
showed his versatility when he came from well off the pace to capture the
RM320,000 Piala Emas Sultan Selangor over 2000m at Sungei Besi here today.
Still unsighted with 300m to go, the son of Al Maher
opened up in giant strides in the final 200m just as STAR QUALITY and SEA
WORLD were fighting it out in front in the set-weight event.
Ridden by Firman Yap, TRUSON raced past them close home
to snatch his biggest win since taking out the Coronation Cup (1600m) last
November. It was also the biggest win for Yap.
Since winning the Coronation Cup, TRUSON has finished
second to VOLCANIC GENERAL in the Tunku Gold Cup (1200m), third to LISTEN in
the Selangor Gold Cup (1600m) and third to VONCALNIC GENERAL in the Penang
Sprint Trophy (1400m).
TRUSON was being tested beyond 1600m for just the second
time today. He also contested the Piala Emas Sultan Selangor last, finishing
seventh to EN LAUDER.
TRUSON has now raced 35 times for 10 wins and 15 placings.
