Forever Young wins Chairman's Trophy

Disappointing last time out in his first run since winning the Group 1 Singapore Guineas last May, FOREVER YOUNG had class written all over him when he quickly bounced back to win the Chairman's Trophy over 1800m at Kranji here today.

Partnered again by Benny Woodworth, the American gelding, like he did in the Guineas, made all the running to win the Group 2 event.

"After his first-up defeat, I couldn’t find anything wrong with him. The only thing I could think of was he was ridden too quiet, " said trainer Kuah Cheng Tee.

 

"He needs to go forward, and Benny (Woodworth) really understands this horse. That day when he ran badly, Benny was just as lost as me, but today, he told me he had only one plan – go forward."

 

With today's win, FOREVER YOUNG has now won four of eight starts.
