finally gets first Malaysian win

After three changes of trainers,
BLADEMEISTER finally landed his first win in Malaysia when successful in the
Star Prince 1978 Handicap here today.
Ridden by Jackie Chuah, the son of Bernadini settled in midfield and
struggled to get going behind the leading bunch who were stretch across the
track.
It was only in the final 100m that BLADEMEISTER came into the picture and
nailed GREAT GERONIMO by a short head.
BLADE MEISTER was a juvenile winner in Australia and managed just one win in
16 starts in Singapore.
Sent over to Malaysia, trainer Frank Maynard managed just two placings with
him in 12 starts. Peter Lee had no luck either in seven outings.
Under Leong Poh Keong, BLADEMEISTER managed three placings in seven starts
including a third over 1200m last Sunday.
But back with Peter Lee after that run, BLADEMEISTER finally made the
breakthrough in a Class 5 - 1200m handicap today.
