HAPPY DAYZ are here for the bang-in-form New Zealand gelding by Pour Moi.

Placed once in four runs in New Zealand and unplaced in five starts in Singapore, HAPPY DAYZ is now racing at his peak after a slow start to his campaign in Malaysia.

HAPPY DAYZ was transferred to Charles Leck in Kuala Lumpur in August last year and it took the gelding nine starts to notch his first win last March.

Unplaced in his next three runs, HAPPY DAYZ then struck a brilliant patch to win four of his last five outings, including his last three.

Ridden by apprentice Suriya Arunasalam, HAPPY DAYZ defied a promotion to Class 3 (after landing a double in Class 4) to win a 1400m sprint at Sungei Besi here today.

Taking command from the starts, HAPPY DAYZ kicked clear once entering the home stretch and was several lengths ahead at the 200m. But then he began to shorten strides in the closing stages. MR PAULANDRE, who chased him all the way, tried in vain to catch him, losing by a head.
