Spectacular from last-to-first by Jutsu

JUTSU put himself right in the picture for Heat 1 of the Malaysian 3YO Championship next week with a spectacular win in the Novice - 1200m sprint here today.

The son of Smart Missile was bought for A$320,000 as a yearling and showed his class winning first-up in Restricted Maiden company last month.

Backed down to odds-on today, JUTSU missed the jump and was a clear last early. Jockey Jose De Souza quickly urged the gelding along and they picked up ground rapidly.

The pair were in midfield at the half-way stage and within striking distance of the leader MULTIBLUE RANCHO at the top of the straight.

MULTIBLUE RANCHO took a clear lead at the 200m when JUTSU was just winding up. However the latter opened up in giant strides in the closing stages to win drawing away by 1 3/4 lengths.

JUTSU has only to enjoy to a better start to win next week.
