Trainer Lines Ready To Rock the season again

The Selangor Turf Club staged a special race to celebrate the achievement of home-based trainer Richard Lines who emerged as the leading trainer in Malaysia for seven consecutive seasons from 2011 to 2017.

The "Back-To-Back Champ Trophy" was a Metro A set-weight event run over 1600m. And who should win it? Lines himself, of course.

Lines has two runners in the race, READY TO ROCK and SEA WORLD, and it was the former who came from behind to snatch victory by 2 1/4 lengths to complete a winning hat-trick.

The son of Ready's Image has now won five times in 12 starts in Malaysia since coming over from Singapore where he was placed once in nine outins.

Lines, who shared the lead in the table with Frank Maynard with 51 winners going into the meeting, pulled away after saddling four winners in the afternoon.

READY TO ROCK cost A$150,000 at the Horses In Training sale and was a disappointment in Singapore. He has improved by leaps and bounds since crossing the causeway.
