After some encouraging runs,
MELTING POINT managed to break through for his first Singapore win in the
Class 3 - 1400m handicap at Kranji here tonight.
The Australian gelding did not race at two and started eight times at three
for two wins at Ascot and Bunbury and three placings.
In his first six starts at Kranji, he was never further back than fifth.
Being drawn very wide the last start, the four-year-old had to come from a
long way back to finish fifth to AOTEAROA over 1400m.
With Alan Munro astride tonight, MELTING POINT stepped up on that effort,
coming from midfield to snatch victory by a neck.
"Alan
gave him a gem of a ride, and the horse won accordingly," said trainer
Leticia Dragon. "Looking
at the way he runs here, he should be even better over the mile."
"He was still green when he went through the gap. He could have found
another length if he didn’t hang out, but it was still a good win," said
Munro.
