Nine-year-old Uncle Polo no pushover

UNCLE POLO bounced back after some dismal runs of late to score an upset in a Class 5 - 1100m handicap here today.

The nine-year-old has six previous wins to his name and showed that he still has what it takes when he came from a seemingly hopeless position to win.

Ridden by M Ganeesh, the son of Flying Pegasus (AUS) was racing in midfield and still several lengths from the leaders at the top of the straight.

ZAC GALLANT and OUR FRIENDLY DIVA kicked clear from the rest at the 200m to fight out. But UNCLE POLO gradually close the gap and got up in the last couple to stride to claim victory by half a length. He paid RM163.

It was the fifth win in Malaysia for UNCLE POLO who also registered two wins at Kranji before moving up north to join trainer Wayne Lim.
