Roselli on the rise in Malaysia

ROSELLI, who won once in 12 starts in Singapore, made it three wins from four runs in Malaysia with a runaway win in the RM55,000 Wilayah Silver Bowl at Sungei Besi here today.

After two easy wins following his transfer from Singapore, the California Dane gelding had his first big test in the Sports Toto Supreme Challenge Trophy last month but fared badly. However, his bounce back was quick and devastating.

Partnered by Mohd Faizal Wahidon for the fourth time today, ROSELLI was racing in midfield next to the rails. The apprentice's decision to stick to the rails instead of switching out for a run making the turn into the straight paid dividends.

A gap opened up on the inside of the front runners and ROSELLI quickly darted through and in a few strides was clearly in the lead. He raced away to win as he liked by eight lengths.

ROSELLI began his career only at four in New Zealand, starting four times for a win and a second before moving on to Singapore.

Faizal went on to complete a treble, winning on STICK SEEKER and BULLISH LUCK.
