delivers shock win

It took TALES OF SUMMER 20 starts
to register his first win in Singapore. Following that, he was unplaced in
two starts in Class 4.
It was, therefore, totally understandable when punters ignored him
completely when he lined up in a Class 3 - 1200m sprint at Kranji here
today, partnered by Nuh Komari who had only one previous win (CERTAINLY last
October) to his name.
The least-backed in a field of nine, TALES OF SUMMER was the one who showed
the way from the word "go" and never surrendered the lead, winning by one
length to pay $301.
"I
was not confident at all, but I just told Roy (Nuh's nickname) to go and
enjoy the ride," said winning trainer Cliff Brown. "I
thought he went for home a bit early before the turn, but he kept riding the
horse out and it’s paid off. It’s very rare for these kids to get a win and
I’m really rapt for him."
TALES OF SUMMER started 10 times at
three in Australia, winning four times, before coming to Singapore.
