Abdullah saddles
four winners for first time

It may be just a novelty meeting
confined to home based horses but still, first-season trainer V V Abdullah
Aboo Bakker could take pride in the fact that saddled four winners at Sungei
Besi here this afternoon.
The Selangor Turf Club re-introduced novelty races after a lapse of several
years and this was the second such meeting this year.
SHOWAR, who won two races in New Zealand, was off the mark for the first
time in Singapore or Malaysia in 22 starts, after previously managing just
one third placing.
LINCOLN CITY, unplaced in nine starts in Singapore/Malaysia previously,
sprang a huge surprise. The four-year-old battled to a narrow win in a
keenly contested race to pay RM266 for a win.
BAHAR won for the second time in six starts under Abdullah leading for most
of the way. The gelding has now six wins in 29 starts.
SUPER DRAGON returned to form for the first time this season to wind up a
superb afternoon for Abdullah with his fifth win in 41 outings.
