Buenos Aires romps
to easy win

A change of scenery has turned
around the fortunes of BUENOS AIRES following his arrival in Malaysia at the
end of last year.
The Sebring gelding, bought for A$650,000 as a yearling, disappointed his
owners Down Under when he managed two minor wins in 10 runs at two and
three.
Shipped to Singapore, BUENOS AIRES was placed thrice in 10 starts at Kranji
without winning.
After six months on the sidelines, the gelding joined Simon Dunderdale last
December and it was another five months before be made his bow in Malaysia.
And what a start he made to the new chapter in his career.
BUENOS AIRES fought his way to a short head-victory in a Class 4 handicap
last May and after an unplaced run last month, was back in the winning
enclosure at Sungei Besi here today, the first novelty meeting planned by
Selangor Turf Club for the year.
This time, though, BUENOS AIRES started odds-on favourite in a Class 3 -
1400m handicap and romped home by 3 3/4 lengths against six rivals.
