Perfect hat-trick for trainer Baertschiger

Three first-time winners provided trainer Shane Baertschiger with a perfect evening at Kranji here tonight.

The Australian got off to a flying start to the meeting when ROYAL PAVILION easily run down the pacemaker PAPERBACK TROOPER to win by 1 1/2 lengths for his first win in 10 starts in the opening event.

Baertschiger quickly followed up in the next race with two-year-old NO REGRETS. Unplaced in his debut last month, the Showcasing gelding created a big upset in the Restricted Maiden, Div 1 - 1200m race when he battled hard to win by a neck. He paid $103 for a win.

Another juvenile, BOOM SHAKALAKA, completed a three-for-three night for Baertschiger when he led all the way in the Restricted Maiden in the programme, winning by 1 1/4 lengths in his debut.

"I had two lightweight rides for Shane and both won," said jockey K'Isisuhairi Kasim who rode NO REGRETS and BOOM SHAKALAKA who both went off at 50kg.

"I’ve got a few two-year-olds. We’ll see how these two come out of tonight’s races and we’ll then see if they run in the 2YO series," said Baertschiger.
