Trainer Shane Baertschiger's team
was on fire at Kranji here tonight, winning four consecutive races including
the IRT Juvenile Stakes with NO REGRETS.
The Showcasing gelding narrowly won his last start, his second career
outing, in Restricted Maiden. Sent out favourite in the two-year-old
set-weight contest he prevailed in a three-way photo to win by a short head.
Baertschiger also won two-year-olds CHARMING DIAMOND and HOTSHOTS SLAM in
the two Restricted Maiden races.
The Aussie wound up the evening with WASSERGEIST who was making his
Singapore debut in the Class 4, Div 2 - 1200m handicap.
WASSERGEIST, bought for NZ$240,000 as a yearling, won two races in Australia
and was placed twice including a third in the listed Gothic Stakes at
Caulfield in 10 starts.
"He
broke down twice. He had a chipped fetlock, came back and then he had the
same fetlock problem," said Baertschiger who co-owns the gelding.
The owners decided to bring him to Singapore and WASSERGEIST started a new
chapter in his career in the best possible manner.
