Coetzee back in limelight with five winners

Even in his championship winning years, trainer Kevin Coetzee rarely had a day such as this: winning five races in one afternoon.

The South African did just that today when he saddled KEEN DRAGON, TIC TAC TOE, SING EXPRESS, POWERFUL STAR and LAUS DEO to victory here today.

It has been nine years since Coetzee last win the title, in 2010 when he saddled 71 winners. He longer has the number of horses he used to take charge of.

There have been some recent additions to his string and two of them were in the winner's circle today.

POWERFUL STAR scored his first win in four runs under Coetzee and LAUS DEO notched his second success in five starts for him in the Enrich Stakes A event over 1000m.

The latter won a similar race here back in June but bounced back after unplaced runs in the Perak Gold Vase and Penang Sprint Trophy.
