Shoqeet and Littlebitofjoy in dead-heat

Three-time Singapore winner SHOQEET scored a comeback win in the Cosmo C set-weight event over 1800m here today, but the five-year-old had to share honours with a horse more than double his age.

After more than eight months on the sidelines after his transfer from Singapore, SHOQEET beat one home in his Malaysia debut last February but showed improvement to finish third over 1600m last month.

The Showcasing gelding, who won over 1800m and 2000m after his maiden success over 1200m at Kranji, appreciated the longer trip today. After settling in midfield, SHOQEET put in a late run to grab the lead 50m out.

Just as he did that, 11-year-old LITTLEBITOFJOY also shifted into top gear wide out and stormed home. The photo could not separate them and dead-heat was declared.

It was the 11th victory in 68 starts for LITTLEBITOFJOY who at his peak won the Perak Derby (2400m) three times, in 2013, 2015 and 2016.
