SUPER FORTUNE bounced back to
winning form after 20 months to land a narrow win in the Class 3 - 1200m
handicap at Kranji here tonight.
The son of Mossman has been placed just twice in 16 starts this season and
was a last-start fourth to FEDERATION in a similar race two weeks ago.
SUPER FORTUNE, ridden by John Sundradas, stepped up on that run to score in
a thrilling finish. He was amongst a line of horses chasing the leader
CHARGER at the 200m and proved just a little too good at the end, winning by
short head in a four-way photo.
SUPER FORTUNE had a superb first season in 2017 when he started six times
for four wins and two placings and carried that form to early 2018 with a
second and win from his two outings.
But he struggled to regain his form after that, including six attempts in
group races.
"He
was checked twice last run, and so I told John today to give him more
daylight. I thought he followed the instructions well," said trainer Alwyn
Tan.
SUPER FORTUNE
had win a three placings in six starts as a
juvenile in Australia and has now picked up six wins in 30 runs in
Singapore.
