Kerauno starts new season in style

KERAUNO, who finished the 2018 season winning the Macau Jockey Club Goodwill Cup, picked up where he left in the new season to win the Banded 62-89 event over 1300m at Penang here today.

Ridden by apprentice Rosmizan Suhaimi for the first time today, the Equiano gelding settled just behind the two front runners on the rails. He was then switched out for a run and once in the clear, shot to the front 250m out and cleared away to win by three-quarter lengths.

KERAUNO has now won five times in 16 starts in Malaysia, after picking up three wins in 10 runs in Australia.

It was great after for his trainer Sharee Hamilton who has earlier saddled SECRET SPICE and TURQUOISE KINGA to victory.
