Letitgo lets loose for comeback win

Forced to spend 10 months on the sidelines due to a chipped fetlock, LETITGO bounced back to fitness to win the Class 3 - 1600m handicap on the polytrack at Kranji here tonight.

Trainer Saimee Jumaat bought the Irish gelding after his last win on New Year's day but the setback meant the six-year-old only made his comeback last month, finishing unplaced over 1400m.

LETITGO, with Noh Senari astride, settled just behind the early pace set early by CARIBBEAN LADY and when KARISTO took over the running at the 1000m, the gelding tracked him as well.

LETITGO ranged alongside KARISTO at the 200m and shot to the front with 100m to go to win by 1 3/4 lengths.

"He needed the last run badly as he hasn’t raced since the surgery in January. He ran well last start without doing too much, and he improved after the run," said Saimee. "He’s really thriving, so hopefully he’s onwards and upwards from now on. We hope to keep him as sound as possible. So if he pulls up good tomorrow, I’ll be really happy."

LETITGO had a win and a third from 2 runs as a juvenile in Ireland and was placed once in 3 starts at three before coming to Singapore where he notched back-to-back wins last year. It's now 4 wins in 18 runs at Kranji.
