At the height of his career,
LITTLEBITOFJOY won the Perak Derby three times, in 2013, 2015 and 2016.
Now aged 11, the American gelding is far from what he was. But that did not
prevent from collecting another silverware in the form of the Macau Jockey
Club Goodwill Trophy here today.
Earlier in the season, LITTLEBITOFJOY dead-heated with SHOQEET to win a
Cosmo C set-weight over 1800m also on this track in April.
The pair clashed again in a similar event over the same distance today and
they fought it out from the 300m to the post with LITTLEBITOFJOY winning by
a neck.
The drama did not end there. Bernardo Pinheiro, the rider of SHOQEET, filed
protest for alleged interference at the 300m. The protest was dismissed,
giving LITTLEBITOFJOY his 12th win in 78 starts.
LITTLEITOFJOY paid RM126 and was
one three horses who returned three-figure dividends today. MORALES (four
wins in Singapore) scored his first win in Malaysia to pay RM298. RAGNAR
paid RM106 his debut win.
