Unchained Melody calls the tune in final heat

UNCHAINED MELODY braved heavy rain to clinch the third and final heat of the 2019 Malaysia 3YO Championship over 1200m here today.

Ridden by apprentice CT Lee, the New Zealand filly handled the soft going best of 10 runners to win by 1 1/4 lengths.

UNCHAINED MELODY finished on board in two runs in Restricted Maiden before winning easily in a Class 5 - 1300m event on Mar 24.

The New Zealand filly finished down the field in the first heat of the championship series in Ipoh but has bounced back with a second-place finish in a Class 4 event on May 5.

The Final of the championship will take place in Ipoh on Jun 30.

The last three races had to be called due to the inclement weather and adverse track conditions.
