Pinheiro dazzles again with a double

Brazilian jockey Bernardo Pinheiro continues to dazzle racing fans with a double at Sungei Besi here today.

In the past one month, Pinheiro has demonstrated his prowess in the saddle with 10 winners including two trebles and a double, and he nearly stole the Singapore Derby on outsider MR CLINT who finished second to SUN MARSHAL.

Pinheiro was again in his elements when he prevailed in a four-way photo astride JEFFREY in a Class 5 - 1600m handicap today. The Dick Turpin gelding beat the odds-on favourite MR CONNERY by a head.

Pinheiro then brought the favourite PLACE YOUR BET with a well-timed to win a Class 4 - 1400m handicap.

It was his third win in seven starts in Malaysia since relocating from Singapore where he failed to win in 12 runs.

A change of name from SWEDISH MEMORIES seemed to have brought a change of fortunes for the two-time Australia winner.
