Bold Thruster lands Rocket Man Sprint

BOLD THRUSTER made it three Group 3 wins in-a-row with a resounding win in the A$175,000 Rocket Man Sprint over 1200m at Kranji here today.

The Australian gelding won the Singapore 3YO Sprint last time out but skipped the second leg of the Singapore 3YO Challenge (3YO Classic over 1400m on Friday) to take on older horses today.

The result was a half-length victory over two-time champion Singapore sprinter LIM'S CRUISER with a host of other group winners trailing behind.

Granted BOLD THRUSTER was in receipt of 7kg from the champion in the weights but there is no doubt as to his class and potential. It was the second time BOLD THRUSTER has landed a hat-trick and now boasts a record of six wins in just eight starts.

"It was a great effort. I actually thought he was down, but to his credit, he fought back," said trainer Shane Baertschiger. "He broke 1min 9secs again. He’ll now go to the Lion City Cup."

BOLD THRUSTER stopped the clock at 1min. 8.71secs.
