French jockey Louis-Philippe Beuzelin landed his first
treble in Singapore after scoring on IMPLEMENT, CARNELIAN and TRAPIO at
Kranji here today.
But with a bit more luck, he could have a five-timer to
boast.
Beuzelin was beaten by a nose on JUPITER DRAGON in the
opening event by SUN FORMATION. He was then pipped on the line by HEAVENLY
DANCER, losing by a short head astride LATENT POWER in the following event.
Beuzelin was third time lucky in a photo-finish when
steered IMPLEMENT to win the Class 4 - 1600m handicap, holding on by a nose
after setting the pace.
"This horse is really tough. He fought it out the whole
straight, he’s tough as nails," said Beuzelin. "We had a bad draw, he had to
make an effort to get to the front, but I was able to give him a breather."
It was the second win in Singapore for the former
one-time winner in Ireland.
With the change of fortune,
Beuzelin went on to score an easy win (by 2 1/2 lengths) on CARNELIAN and
was successful in another photo-finish with TRAPIO.
