In line with the directive from the government to cancel all mass gatherings due to Covid-19, the Selangor Turf Club decided at cancel its races due to held this weekend, Saturday 14 March 2020 and Sunday, 15 March 2020.

The Club was due to stage the first of its big races, the Tunku Gold Cup (1200m) on Sunday. It forms the first leg of the Club's Triple Crown. The second leg, the Selangor Gold Cup (1600m) is scheduled for August and the final leg, the Piala Emas Sultan Selangor (2000m) is slated for September.
