Tiang and Muniandy combine for treble

Tiang Kim Choi, who made a comeback to training last November, enjoyed his best-ever day on his return when he saddled three winners at his home base here today.

All his three winners were ridden by Muniandy Shankar who achieved a career best aftenoon.

The pair kicked off the afternoon with WIN EASY with lived up to his name with a runaway 3 1/4-length win in a Class 5 - 1200m handicap. It was the first start in Malaysia for the New Zealand after his transfer from Singapore where he raced twice for two four-place finishes. The four-year-old was a A$200,000 purchase at the Horses In Training sale.

Later in the programme the pair won back-to-back races with EMPEROR TAIZONG and STREETS OF FIRE.

EMPEROR TAIZONG won his fifth and last start at Kranji last October, before his transfer to Tiang a month later. It was his third start for his new trainer, following two placings.

STREETS OF FIRE, unplaced in two runs in Singapore, was placed in all four starts last year, winning once, before being placed under Tiang. The mare has maintained her consistent form this year, with a fourth, second and now another win in as many starts.
