Grand Cross just
too classy

Nine-year-old GRAND CROSS is the highest rated horse
in Malaysia and is not about to give up his crown anytime soon.
The Fastnet Rock gelding resumed after a seven-month break here last month
when he finished second to MOONGATE LIGHT in Rapid Stakes A event over
1400m.
The Australian gelding stepped up on that effort to lead all the way in a
similar event over 1300m today, winning by one length.
GRAND CROSS was sold for A$1.3 million as a yearling but did not live up to
his billing when he picked up just two minor wins (from five starts) in
provincial tracks before he was sent over to Singapore.
GRAND CROSS managed to win four races, including in Class 2, at Kranji but
moving to Malaysia, he has always more than measured up to the best.
Today's win was his ninth since coming under trainer Kevin Coetzee.
